Rehearsed slide timings aren't turned on by default. If you want to use the timings as you present, you can turn the timing on before you play the slide show. On the Slide Show tab, in Set Up, select the Use Timings check box.

If you previously recorded your presentation and saved the slide timings, the slides may be set to automatically advance according to the saved timings when you play the slide show. If you don't want to use the timings as you present, you can turn them off.

You can record a narration before you run a presentation, or you can record it during the presentation and include audience comments. If you do not want narration throughout your entire presentation, you can record separate sounds or comments on selected slides or objects. For more details, see Record a slide show with narration and slide timings.

You can use manual slide timings to the trim the end of a recorded slide segment. For example, if the end of a slide segment concludes with two seconds of unnecessary audio, simply set the timing for advancing to the next slide so that it happens before the unnecessary audio. That way you don't have to re-record the audio for that slide.

Once you exit the Record Slide Show experience with the Esc key or by clicking End show, you will see narration (audio/video) applied to your slide along with the proper slide timings and ink animations.

If you have recorded timings and want to use them in the video you create from your presentation, make sure the box next to Use Recorded Timings and Narrations is checked. You can also choose to set the amount of time the video will spend on each slide if you don't have a set timing.

Rehearsing timings can be useful if you want to set up a presentation to play at a certain speed without having to click through the slides yourself. It also gives you the opportunity to practice your talking points. Using this feature, you can save timings for each slide and animation. PowerPoint will then play the presentation automatically using these timings.

If you change your mind about including slide timings or narration, you can easily remove one or both. You can clear them from the entire presentation or just the current slide.

If you want to manually record your timings, press the Record Timings and Narrations option in the second drop-down menu. This will begin a recording of your presentation, allowing you to stay on each slide for as long as you prefer. You can also narrate the presentation as you work through it, with these narrations saved in your video.

When you choose a rehearsal option, the Rehearsal toolbar appears and the slideshow goes to full screen so you can gain a lot of information about your timing options and use timings that you manually set or learn about from the rehearsal. 2ff7e9595c
